Volunteer Spotlight: John Didiuk

Occupation: Senior Investment Officer at Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)

Working on: John can usually be found working on construction at 56th Place in Deanwood. This week, John is in Nicaragua for a build in partnership with Habitat Nicaragua.

Involvement with Habitat: John has been involved with DC Habitat for the past four years. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in college, and when he moved to the DC area, he became a Saturday volunteer with DC Habitat. He has since increased his involvement with DC Habitat and now serves on the Board of Directors, but still volunteers his time on the construction site. “I consider myself first and foremost a volunteer,” John says.

When not volunteering: John is the captain of his company’s softball team, and he enjoys boxing. He is also on the Board of Directors at the Harvard Club of Washington, D.C.
