United Way/CFC
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally, which help raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (October 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.

Use the following designations to donate to our organization through the CFC:

Matching Gifts
You can double or even triple the impact of your donation of time or money, through your company’s matching gift program. Check with your Human Resources department for details on how to have your gift matched by your company. Or, search for your company in this free database: MatchingGifts.com.

Gifts of Securities

Cars for Homes
When you donate your car, truck, boat or RV to Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes program, you can help D.C. Habitat build homes in our community. The process is quick and easy, and your donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for more details). If you live in the District of Columbia, you can call 1-877-277-HFHI (4344) or make your donation online. If you live outside the District of Columbia, please call 1- 877-277-HFHI (4344) and be sure to mention that you want your donation to be designated to D.C. Habitat for Humanity.

Donations of Materials and Supplies
Donations of materials and supplies are a critical to making D.C. Habitat homes affordable, and helps protect the environment by keeping usable materials, appliances, and furniture out of landfills.

  • Metro Checks -- for use by our AmeriCorps members to commute to the jobsite
  • Advertising Space (Print and Online Publications)

Local Habitat ReStore Locations
Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from ReStores help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community. Materials sold by Habitat ReStores are usually donated from building supply stores, contractors, demolition crews or from individuals who wish to show their support for Habitat.
