Last Sunday, December 9, more than 6,000 runners showed up and finished the Jingle All the Way 8k. This year’s race benefited DC Habitat for Humanity. DC Habitat supporters contributed their time on the track and off, helping to set up, register runners and direct crowds.
It was a frosty morning, but no rain came and the skies provided a crisp, clear backdrop for a race of speedy competitors. The fastest runner came in at 24:01!
Those of us with slightly slower times still had fun! Rounding the turns and racing through the final stretch on Pennsylvania Ave, we sprinted towards the end. Until we saw one last turn to the left on 10th St. What a ruse! One step at a time though, we crossed the finish line to be greeted with water, bagels, and coffee by welcoming event staff and volunteers.
