DC Habitat’s mission is to provide decent, affordable homes for hard-working, low-income families. The number of houses we build each year depends on the money we raise, and our corporate partnerships are critical to helping us close the gap for hard-working families across the District.

A team build in action.

By partnering with DC Habitat, companies can work hand-in-hand with us to provide affordable shelter for those in need – both here in the Nation’s Capital and our partner locations in Central America.  In return, we provide our corporate partners with valuable benefits, including tax deductions, public relations efforts in conjunction with our well-established brand and team build opportunities that boost company morale.

There are a number of sponsorship levels available to prospective partners, each including a set of benefits based upon the corresponding commitment level:


Full-House Partner $100,000

Volunteer Engagement and Corporate Recognition Benefits

  • Inclusion in a sponsor appreciation ad run twice per year in a major DC publication, such as The Washington Post
  • Opportunity to announce partnership and have a speaking role at a groundbreaking or home dedication ceremony with Habitat family and an invitation for sponsor representative to attend this event
  • Press release prior to home dedication ceremony highlighting corporate partnership
  • Story on company/organization’s sponsorship in a DC Habitat print or digital publication
  • Company signage on build site, recognizing company as exclusive sponsor of a specific home
  • Logo recognition on DC Habitat website with a direct link to your corporate website
  • Acknowledgment in DC Habitat’s Annual Report (also posted on website)
  • Permission to use the DC Habitat logo on company website and company newsletter article announcing the partnership
  • Opportunity to have DC Habitat President and CEO Susanne Slater speak as a subject matter expert to your executive team or other senior staff
  • Presentation at a corporate place of business informing employees about partnership
  • Opportunity for company employees to participate in a corporate team building experience
  • Co-branded t-shirts provided to all company employees participating in team builds
  • All volunteers can follow the remainder of the home’s construction by staying in touch through social media and attending the home dedication ceremony


Global Village Participation

  • Opportunity for a company representative to join DC Habitat staff, board members and other corporate partners on a Global Village Volunteer Trip to build homes in Central  America

In-Kind Contributions

DC Habitat also relies on the generous donation of in-kind materials to help us build more homes – ranging from construction materials to professional services to donated advertising space. Benefits are available depending upon the value of the in-kind contribution. Those in-kind donations valued at $50,000 or higher receive Community Partnerships Campaign benefits equivalent to half of the value of the in-kind donation.
