Get Involved: Group Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in getting a group organized involved with DC Habitat for Humanity! Whether your team is a corporation, non-profit, or a civic or faith-based group we welcome your help in furthering our mission of eliminating substandard housing in DC.

Team Builds

This is our most popular volunteer activity! No experience is required! We schedule volunteers age 16 and up on Tuesdays through Saturdays year round. A workday typically runs from 8:15am to 4:00pm.

In addition, review the Team Building heading under the Sponsorship Options packet. DC Habitat relies entirely on contributions from groups and individuals to purchase the materials necessary to build our homes.

TEAM BUILD BENEFITS
Team Building can be an extremely valuable and unique opportunity for your company or non-profit's staff. For more information on the benefits of a Team Build day with DC Habitat for Humanity, please download our Team Building Information packet.

SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS
Review our full range of Sponsorship Options and the Team Building opportunities that are available at each level. For one Team Build day on the construction site, the suggested minimum donation is $5,000 for a corporate group or $1,000 for a non-profit, civic or faith-based group.

FUNDRAISING MATERIALS
Raising funds is a crucial part of building homes. In order to raise funds for a Team Build day, some groups apply to their company or school for a grant in order to subsidize their donation. Others organize a Build-a-thon in which each team-member solicites pledges from friends, family, and businesses. Whatever method you choose, these Fundraising Resources can help you tackle your fundraising goals!
