Education and Advocacy

This committee prepares educational materials and facilitates dialogue within the community around issues of affordable housing, homelessness, and community development.  This committee also tries to link DC Habitat to local and national politicians and other community organizations which can affect housing policy in the Nation’s capital.

The input of energetic and creative volunteers is always welcome.  This committee will work to encourage local and national policy makers to participate on the build site, raise awareness in the community around affordable housing issues, coordinate visits to local policy makers with homeowners, prepare informational facts about the housing problem in DC, and talk to other volunteers and community members about what they can do to solve the housing problem.
