Construction

The most popular volunteer opportunity is helping on the construction site. Many of us have been inspired by former President Jimmy Carter's example of picking up a hammer and helping to build a home. DC Habitat's construction crew utilizes volunteers Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., almost year-round. There is no minimum or maximum time commitment—you can volunteer once per week, once per month, or just a few times a year. We welcome your participation whether you are an experienced tradesperson or you don¹t know a sixteen-penny nail from a spackling knife!
