DMV Residents are Beating the Traffic and Helping Build Homes

Thanks to generous Washington Metro area residents who handed over their Toyotas, Fords, and Yamaha motorcycles, the five National Capital Area Affiliates of Habitat for Humanity raised more than $82,000 through the Cars for Homes™ program in the first six months of 2012, plus $39,000 toward a $100,000 matching grant available until December 31, 2012.

In total, the program has raised $588,137.42 life-to-date in the D.C. area. That’s hundreds of thousands of dollars going to help YOUR community–with programs such as house-building for low-income homebuyers and weatherization projects to cut down on energy costs.

Cars for Homes™ is a national program to support Habitat for Humanity affiliates  through used car donations. The National Capital Area Affiliates are the exclusive participants in the CFH 2012 Partnership Program–so for every $2 your donated car is worth, they will kick in an extra dollar.

Cars for Homes™ will even pick up your used car, truck, or motorcycle at a place and time convenient to you. To donate your automobile, just click on this link:

DC Habitat believes that everyone deserves a house they want to call home. That's why we work to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness in the nation's capital by building (and rehabilitating) affordable, energy- and resource-efficient homes for people in need.
