Directions to 55th and Clay St. NE

From Northwest DC or VA

• Get on Independence Ave., heading east. Between 2nd and 3rd St. SE, take the left fork in the road (there is a left-hand turn lane for this), then immediately turn right to remain on Independence Ave.

• Follow Independence Ave. around RFK Stadium. Follow the signs to East Capitol St. (Do NOT get on I-95/295).

• Stay on E. Capitol for several minutes. Turn left onto 55th St. NE (just before the school’s playing fields). Turn left onto Blaine St. Take the first right onto 54th St., then the first right onto Clay St.

• The site is on Clay St. between 54th and 55th St. NE. After you park, please find the registration table and sign in.

From Southeast DC

• Take Minnesota Ave. north. Take a right onto B St. (after Croffut). Follow B St. to East Capitol. Merge right onto East Capitol.

• Stay on E. Capitol for a few minutes. Take a left onto 55th St. NE (just before the school’s playing fields). Turn left onto Blaine St. Take the first right onto 54th St., then the first right onto Clay St.

• The site is on Clay St. between 54th and 55th St. NE. After you park, please find the registration table and sign in.

From MD / the Beltway

• Take 214/Central Ave. heading west. This eventually becomes East Capitol.

• Stay on East Capitol until 55th St. NE. Turn right onto 55th St. NE (just past the school’s playing fields). Turn left onto Blaine St. Take the first right onto 54th St. Take the first right onto Clay St.

• The site is on Clay St. between 54th and 55th St. NE. After you park, please find the registration table and sign in.

By Metro

• Take the blue line to Capitol Heights. Exit station and turn to your right. You should now be facing East Capitol St. Turn left onto East Capitol. (You do not want to be on Southern Ave.) Go about 6 blocks (THIS IS NOT A SHORT 6 BLOCKS) to 55th St. (just past the junior high school).

• Take a right onto 55th. Walk up 55th St. to Clay St., and turn left on Clay. The site is on Clay St. between 55th St. and 54th St. NE. Please sign in at the registration table before beginning to work.

• IF YOU TAKE THE BUS FROM CAPITOL HEIGHTS METRO (instead of walking): Get on the 96 or 97 bus going west on East Capitol. Get off at 55th St. (this will be the 3rd or 4th stop – there will be schools on both sides of East Capitol). Take a right on 55th. Walk 2 - 3 blocks and take a left on Clay. Please sign in at the registration table.
