He recently graduated from the University of Maryland University College with an MS in nonprofit management. He has some experience volunteering in Washington D.C., for example helping residents find out more about SNAP benefits through an annual outreach drive. He volunteered weekly with DC Habitat for a year before the start of his term of service as a volunteer construction crew leader. It was exciting, and convinced him that construction of affordable housing with Habitat is something that he wanted to be a part of. In Pat’s free time, he enjoys running, movies, cooking and reading.
Dennis Monaghan / Construction Crew Leader

Matt Taurchini / Construction Crew Leader
Matt is from New Haven, CT and graduated from Georgetown in 2012. This past year he was able to achieve a long time goal of living in New Orleans to help in the ongoing fight of repairing the city from Hurricane Katrina and Isaac. He worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in the Development and Marketing Departments working towards growing our local presence and finding new corporate donors/sponsors. Although he spent some time volunteering with Habitat in high school, this past year was his first real experience, and after having such a great time with it he decided to sign up for another year to the original city he loves, DC. He is very excited to be working on the construction side this year he hopes to learn a lot while still contributing to the marketing and development side when possible.
